DESCRIPTION
Hattie Carnegie emigrated from Austria to the United States as a small child and chose to change her name from Kanengeiser to Carnegie because it sounded "successful" (from industrialist Andrew Carnegie). After various jobs as a teenager, she began her design career making hats, and eventually went on to become one of the most prominent and award-winning clothing designers of her time. A shrewd entrenpreneur, Hattie also went on to produce her own perfume, jewelry, and other accessories. She mentored many rising designers and was truly a woman ahead of her time. One of her NYC showroom models was young Lucille Ball who Hattie mentored.
This gorgeous faceted glass bead necklace includes faceted amber glass edged with filigree and crystals with gold mesh waterfall chain tassels. A really special piece that is a very rare find.
Necklace is adjustable from 36-42cm in length.
Has been worn and some of the gilt is rubbed with wear but still in amazing condition.

Shipping
We charge £7.50 for expedited delivery in the UK. Overseas shipping will be calculated at checkout. We use UPS, Evri and Royal Mail depending on the size, value and delivery address.
Size Conversions
To try and help you navigate the sizing minefield we have sized all our items according to fit - from XXS to XXL. So if an item fits small or large - we will size it accordingly to who will fit it best. If an item is cut very generously, or it's "one size fits all" then we will label it in more than one size. So a sweater may well be labelled a UK10 but if it's a very generous fit then we may label it as S/M/L. We hope this helps.
